I am very excited to be posting on this blog for the first time. On this blog I will be reflecting on the new literacies and web 2.0 that I am learning about in one of my classes in my graduate studies.
One thing that I have learned more about so far in the class is blogging. I have never blogged before. I knew vaguely what blogs were and follow some blogs- educational, wedding planning, food, etc. Using blogs in a way to have students reflect on learning topics, books they are reading, and to also form a discussion between students. I think that using this in classroom would be a great way to incorporate technology and to promote creativity; students could also use blogs in a poetry unit to upload their poems. They can create a unique layout and use colors for certain words to make their poem creative. There are so any ways that I can envision using blogs in the classroom just from reading more about them and creating my own blog.
I cannot wait to learn about more technologies in this class that I can take with me in the future.
